So, I was cutting this girl's hair today. And last time we cut it, she brought me a picture of Alice from the movie twilight and I cut it like that. I loved how it turned out. Well, one day she was in a store or something and this little girl passed by her and said "Mommy, look it's Alice". Her Mom said "No, it's just a girl that looks like Alice". And the little says "No, it's Alice. So after hearing that, my client Jamie starts laughing. She told me "I wanted my hair to look like Alice's but I didn't think I looked that much like her". I should have taken a picture! Too funny!

Preschool

Cadence is in a preschool and loving it. She is making lots of new friends. I'm a little late posting this but this was her first day. Her teacher said that she can definitely tell the kids like Cadence that have already had a year of preschool. Luckly she has 2 of her friends from last year in her class.

Just a little update
Here are some pictures of Cody on fires.

On Thursday Cadence is starting dance. She is so excited! She will get to do ballet, tap, and jazz. I really think she is going to love it. She has always loved to dance. Almost everyday she asks me to turn on some music so that she can dance. Then, next week she will be going back to preschool. She just barely missed the deadline for kindergarten. I had mixed feeling about that because most of her friends that she went to preschool with last year and most of her friends from primary will be in kindergarten. However, she will be one of the oldest in her class and I do think that is a good thing. I know she will love preschool though and her new teacher. It's going to be so weird to have a schedule again.
We have been ejoying our summer. And it's almost over. We spend many evenings outside letting the kids ride their bikes up and down the sidewalks. And I always hope somehow they'll get all their energy out so they'll go to bed good for me, but it seems like they could go forever. Cadence has become friends with the neighbor boy across the street. His name is Aiden and they have so much fun playing together. It was funny today, I know that Cadence loves playing with Aiden but Kyndee told me she wanted to play with Aiden. That was totally unexpected. She makes me laugh. My girls are such good friends. They do everything together. I just hope it stays that way. I guess our days of staying up late and sleeping in are numbered.
The last thing I am excited to post about is our garden. We have watermelon, cantalope, and honeydew melon growing in our garden along with some other things. Some of them are starting to get big. We can't wait to pick them and try them out. I will take pictures and post them soon. We also have been ejoying our tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini (although it's not doing as well as last year), and we even have jalapenos. But I am too chicken to try them.

Summer Storms
I love summer storms. I took the kids out to play in the rain the other day. Kyndee wasn't too happy getting her picture taken in the first photo. My girls absolutely love being outside. There is nothing like the smell of rain here in southern Utah. With all the storms we have been getting lately it has kept Cody pretty busy with fires. We probably won't see him very much until summer is over.

New calling
A couple of weeks ago, I was released as the nursery leader and put in young womens as the laurel advisor. I am excited to work with the young women again. This will be my 3rd time being in young womens in my ward. However, I do miss those sweet little nursery kids. It was fun being in there with Kyndee for the past year. I do look forward to getting to know the young women again and the new experience it will bring.
I was able to go to Youth Conference with the girls yesterday and today up at Kolob. It was a ton of fun. I really enjoyed spending time with the girls. We stayed overnight, so it was nice to get a little break from the kids but I was sure glad to get home to them. They had lots of fun activities for us to do; ropes course, archery, dancing, zipline, water games, and lots of good food.
I did not want to ride the zipline but of course the girls talked me into it. It turned out to be a lot of fun until I got to the end and a bunch of people were waiting for me at the bottom with water ballons then about 4 different buckets full of water. I got drenched!!! I definitely didn't see that coming. It was still fun though.
We all had a great time, but I am glad to be back home after getting sunburned, soaked, having to use latrines (Eww), and sleeping in one building with all the young women in our stake. Good time and fun memories I guess.

Being silly
Cadence wanted a picture of her and I together. So this is how they turned out. I didn't know she was going to make faces until I saw the picture. What a funny kid.
and finally she smiles....
